Vueling Aims to Shake up the Industry with the Addition of Three Weekly Flights to Alicante.

Last week, Spanish budget airline Vueling declared its plan to expand in the UK market by incorporating London Gatwick into its network. This move comes as the company gears up for a bustling summer 2023 schedule.

London-Alicante direct

British travelers can now fly to the popular Spanish destination of Alicante with Vueling as part of their summer schedule. The flight is set to commence on March 28th and will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays using an Airbus A320. The 1,430 km route is expected to provide increased accessibility for holidaymakers that want to spend their vacations in Alicante.

Vueling’s LGW-ALC Schedule

The LGW-ALC flight departing from London Gatwick on Tuesdays takes off at 18:45 and lands in Alicante at 20:25. On Thursdays, the flight departs at 17:30 and arrives at 19:10. On Saturdays, the flight leaves at 19:40 and touches down in Alicante at 21:20.

Vueling Brings the Sun to British Travelers with New Route

With the addition of this new route, British travelers can now bask in the sun at the Costa Blanca and visit the renowned holiday destination of Benidorm. Vueling offers affordable prices, making it possible for passengers to enjoy the sun, sea, and sangria. The new route will provide an attractive option for budget-conscious British holidaymakers.

Vueling vs. Other Airlines on Barcelona-London Gatwick Route

Presently, Vueling already offers flights from Barcelona to London Gatwick, with one in four passengers choosing to fly with the airline to and from Barcelona. This is significant, considering the competition from easyJet, which also operates flights to Barcelona and has a substantial presence at Gatwick.

As for the new flights to Alicante, passengers will have multiple options with British Airways, easyJet, and Ryanair all operating on the route. Vueling, which is part of the International Airlines Group (IAG), will face competition from its sister airline British Airways, which is also owned by IAG.
