Passenger Traffic at Berlin Airport increased in March 2023

The number of passengers who used Berlin Airport in March was nearly 1.7 million, which shows a 31% increase from the previous year but a 43% decrease when compared to the same period in 2019.

With over 140 destinations, the summer flight schedule has come into effect. The number of passengers at BER Airport rose by 300,000 in March, and the busiest day was on March 31 with approximately 71,000 passengers as Easter travel began in Berlin and Brandenburg. Passengers can now enjoy direct flights to over 140 destinations from Berlin.

In March 2022, 1.3 million passengers were recorded at Berlin Airport, while the number was 2.9 million in March 2019 – which is 43 percent higher than in March 2023.

In the same month, around 13,200 flights took off and landed, with 1,200 more than in the previous year. However, in March 2019, the number of flights was double at 24,000.

During March 2023, approximately 2,800 tonnes of air cargo were loaded at BER, which is almost the same as the amount handled in March 2022 and 2019.
