Armenia’s tourism grew over 80% in Q1 2023

Armenia's tourism sector experienced a growth of more than 80% during Q1 2023

According to the Statistical Committee’s official data, Armenia received 451,850 tourists during the initial three months of 2023, indicating an increase of 81.2% compared to the first quarter of 2022.

During the reporting period, the majority of tourists to Armenia were Russian citizens, accounting for 237,040 visitors. Following this, Armenian citizens living abroad represented the second-largest group of visitors, with 74,186 tourists. In addition, 53,707 Georgian citizens and 25,458 Iranian citizens also visited Armenia in the first three months of 2023.

In addition, the number of visitors from Turkey increased by over two-fold, with 2,712 Turkish citizens visiting Armenia between January and March, which is 2.2 times more than the previous year.
