Qatar Airways makes its debut landing in Toulouse, France

This flight represents Qatar Airways' fourth destination in France, following the recent introductions of Nice and Lyon

In July 2023, Qatar Airways launched its new non-stop route connecting Doha, Qatar to Toulouse, France, showcasing the airline’s ongoing commitment to expanding its presence in the French market. The eagerly awaited first flight represents Qatar Airways’ fourth destination in France, following the recent introductions of Nice and Lyon.

At Hamad International Airport (DOH), passengers on the inaugural flight to Toulouse, France, were warmly welcomed with delightful French delicacies and soothing music at the departure gate. QR047, the first flight on this new direct route, accommodated esteemed passengers, including Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, and the Ambassador of France to the State of Qatar, His Excellency Mr. Jean-Baptiste Faivre.

Upon arrival in Toulouse, the flight was received by His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Jassem Al Thani, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to France, and Mr. Philippe Crébassa, Chairman of the Board of Toulouse-Blagnac Airport.

Operating the direct service is an Airbus A330-200, featuring 24 Business Class seats and 236 Economy Class seats. The inaugural flight exemplified excellence, treating all passengers to a specially curated French dining menu, along with a box of luxurious Pierre Hermé macarons and various other giveaways at both the departure and arrival gates, adding to the celebration of this new route.

Flights to Toulouse are scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, all in local time.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, along with Mr. Philippe Crébassa, Chairman of the Board of Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, held a press conference to announce the expansion of Qatar’s national carrier in the French market. During the event, they also discussed potential collaborative opportunities between their dynamic cities.

Akbar Al Baker stated, “Qatar Airways’ extended presence in France will not only strengthen trade, tourism, and commercial ties between our nations but also pave the way for exciting future prospects. With new destinations like Toulouse, Nice, and Lyon, Qatar Airways solidifies its position as a leading carrier in France, offering an extensive range of destinations.”

Philippe Crébassa expressed his pride, saying, “Today marks a significant moment for Toulouse-Blagnac Airport as we inaugurate the Doha route. We are thrilled that Qatar Airways, renowned as one of the world’s finest airlines, has selected Toulouse for its continued growth. This direct link to Doha provides travelers from the south-west of France with seamless access to the Middle East.”

He added, “The Doha hub will facilitate efficient connections to Asia, Africa, and Oceania for both French and international passengers. Additionally, this opening opens up new opportunities for international air freight transport from Toulouse. I extend my gratitude to all the tourism promotion and economic development organizations in Toulouse and the Occitanie region for their collaboration on this project.”
