Etihad Airways has entered into interline and codeshare agreements with six airlines to enhance connectivity.

By establishing reciprocal interline partnerships with six airlines, such as ITA Airways, Philippine Airlines, and Airlink South Africa, Etihad Airways is expanding its offerings to customers with more travel options and destinations.

Etihad Airways has expanded its range of travel options for customers through the introduction of reciprocal interline partnerships with three new airline partners, namely Philippine Airlines, Austrian Airlines, and Airlink South Africa. The airline has also revived its interline connections with Biman Bangladesh and established codeshare agreements with Air Seychelles and ITA Airways.

More connectivity by Etihad Airways

The partnership agreements between the Abu Dhabi-based carrier and its African, Asian, and European partners will become effective in the upcoming weeks.

Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue Officer, addes: “Broadening our network reach, and allowing more guests to come visit Abu Dhabi has always guided our purpose. These six interline/code agreements make life easier for guests of all the airlines involved.

With Austrian Airlines, this tie-in gives our guests access up to 58 European destinations via Vienna, operated by Etihad daily during the summer and joins the other four members of the Lufthansa Group with whom we already have interline or codeshare agreements.

Under this agreement, passengers of all the airlines involved will experience improved connectivity to a wider range of destinations within each other’s networks. Additionally, they will have the convenience of booking a single ticket and checking in only once at the beginning of their journey, with their luggage checked through to their final destination.

Traveling to Africa through Johannesburg

Seamless access to 16 domestic destinations in South Africa and 25 regional African destinations will be provided to connecting guests via Johannesburg flight, as part of the partnership deal with Airlink South Africa. This offering complements the existing options available with South African Airways.

The Philippines is closer

In addition, the collaboration with Philippine Airlines will enable easy access to 19 domestic Filipino destinations, including Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and Kalibo, through our double daily Manila service. This partnership is especially beneficial for the large Filipino diaspora residing in the UAE.

Trip to Dhaka, Chitagong, Praslin

Etihad’s connections with Biman and Air Seychelles were disrupted due to their own system migrations in the past year. The airline company is delighted to re-establish our partnerships with them to complement their Dhaka and Mahe services and expand the reach to additional destinations, such as Chittagong and Praslin.

Fly to Europe through Rome

Finally, the airline is pleased to announce the restoration of the successful partnership with ITA Airways, which was disrupted due to ITA’s own Amadeus Altea migration in February. This partnership provides access to destinations in Italy, Europe, and beyond through Rome Fiumicino.
