Tenerife International Airport
Tenerife’s South Airport – Aeropuerto de Tenerife Sur (IATA: TFS, ICAO: GCTS), known as the Reina Sofía Airport, is the Island’s most modern international airport and one of the busiest in Spain.
Tenerife South International Airport (TFS) is situated in the south of the island. Also known as Tenerife South–Reina Sofía Airport, it is the larger of Tenerife’s two airports. TFS Airport was built due to problems with the location of the original Tenerife North Airport (TFN). The north of the island experiences frequent adverse weather conditions with fog and low visibility, impacting take-offs and landings at TFN.
