Tbilisi-Batumi flights launched by Georgian Wings

Each flight will accommodate up to 70 passengers, facilitating seamless travel between Tbilisi and Batumi.

Georgian Wings will soon start offering direct flights between Tbilisi International Airport and the coastal city of Batumi. Geosky Airlines, the passenger division of the company, plans to operate 12 weekly flights, carrying up to 70 passengers per flight.

The decision to prioritize domestic travel is due to the high demand in the Georgian tourist market.

The flights from Tbilisi-Batumi-Tbilisi will be available daily, with a short duration of just 55 minutes. Georgian Wings will be the only airline offering direct flights between Tbilisi and Batumi, and the service is set to begin on July 28, 2023.

Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport is located 17 km southeast of Tbilisi, Georgia. The airport’s code is TBS and it is a hub for Georgian Airways, Air Georgia, Coyne Airways, MyWay Airlines, and Airline Geo Sky LLC.

As of July 12, 2023, there are over 300 flights scheduled to depart from Tbilisi Airport. The most popular routes from Tbilisi are to Istanbul, Dubai, Moscow, and Frankfurt, London, Athens.

Alexander Kartveli Batumi International Airport is located 2 km south of Batumi, Georgia. The airport’s code is BUS and it is a hub for Georgian International Airlines, Air Batumi, and Caucasus Airlines.

In 2019, Batumi International Airport handled 600,000 passengers, in 2020, due to the pandemic, the airport only handled 300,000 passengers. In 2021, the airport saw a recovery in traffic, handling 450,000 passengers, and in 2022, the airport is on track to handle 600,000 passengers again.

The most popular routes from Batumi Airport are to Istanbul, Tbilisi, and Moscow. The airport also has flights to a number of other destinations Tel Aviv, Sharm El Sheikh, and Hurghada.

The airport of Batumi is undergoing a major expansion, which is expected to be completed in 2023. The expansion will double the airport’s capacity to 1.2 million passengers per year.
