Lufthansa to Restart Flights to Hyderabad

This week, it has come to light that Lufthansa has announced the resumption of its Hyderabad services in India starting from January 2024.

According to AeroRoutes data, Lufthansa, the national airline of Germany, has announced the resumption of its long-haul flights to Hyderabad, India, from its hub in Frankfurt.

Lufthansa previously operated flights between Frankfurt and Hyderabad until October 2011, making the upcoming revival of this route almost twelve years after its discontinuation.

The recommencement of Lufthansa’s Hyderabad service is scheduled for January 16, 2024, with three weekly flights. These flights will be operated using Lufthansa’s state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

Lufthansa’s flight LH752 will depart from Frankfurt Airport (FRA) at 10:00 a.m. and arrive at Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) at 23:00 p.m. This outbound service will be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. All mentioned times are local.

For the return journey, flight LH753 will depart from Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) at 01:00 a.m. and reach Frankfurt Airport (FRA) at 06:10 a.m. This return service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Again, all times provided are local.

Lufthansa’s current fleet includes five Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, and they have placed an order for an additional 34 aircraft of the same model. The existing Dreamliners are configured with a seating arrangement that offers a total of 294 seats. This configuration includes 26 Business Class seats, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 247 Economy Class seats.

As part of fleet management, Lufthansa will transfer five of its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to its group partner, Austrian Airlines. These aircraft will replace three aging Boeing 767-300ERs and six Boeing 777-200ERs currently in the Austrian Airlines fleet.
