Eurowings and Volotea have joined forces to expand their pan-European portfolio, covering over 140 routes in Europe with no overlaps. This will include over 100 routes by Eurowings and around 40 by Volotea. The partnership will also introduce eight new routes by Volotea, linking French and Italian cities directly to German airports in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, and Stuttgart.

These new connections will allow passengers to reach cities like Bordeaux, Lyon, Nantes, Florence, and Verona with direct flights. Volotea, one of Europe’s fastest-growing airlines, will offer scheduled flights in Germany for the first time through this partnership.

By opening distribution channels to each other, Eurowings and Volotea aim to improve their passenger experience by providing a more extensive range of travel options throughout Europe. Volotea’s eight new routes will start operating from May 26, 2023, with twice-weekly flights, offering around 60,000 seats in total.

These routes include Berlin-Verona, Dusseldorf-Bordeaux, and Stuttgart-Bordeaux, among others. The new routes from 10 and 12 October 2023 include Hamburg-Bordeaux, Stuttgart-Nantes, Berlin-Lyon, Hamburg-Florence, and Hamburg-Lyon flights.

As the budget airline of the Lufthansa Group, Eurowings is a member of Europe’s largest airline group. It operates 11 international bases, including Mallorca, which is the top vacation island in Europe, making it one of the largest vacation airlines on the continent. Currently, Eurowings has a fleet of approximately 100 aircraft and a workforce of over 4,000 employees.

Founded in 2011 by Carlos Muñoz and Lázaro Ros, who were also the founders of Vueling, Volotea is one of Europe’s fastest-growing independent airlines over the last ten years. It operates from 19 medium-sized European capitals, servicing more than 100 airports.

Volotea’s fleet consists of 41 Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, and it has been awarded the prestigious ‘Europe’s Leading Low-Fares Airline’ at the 2022 World Travel Awards for the second consecutive year. This awards organization recognizes excellence in the transportation and tourism industry on a global level.
