EasyJet will be launching 15 new routes from Lisbon next summer, increasing its capacity by 54% compared to this year.
The airline will operate a total of 34 routes from Lisbon airport, offering an additional one million seats.
The new routes include destinations in Spain and France, such as Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, and Bastia, and will also increase capacity on seven existing routes. These new flights are part of the 18 daily slots that the European Commission granted to EasyJet at Lisbon airport, which TAP was required to give up. As a result, EasyJet will now operate out of Terminal 1 at the airport, instead of Terminal 2, which is primarily reserved for low-cost carriers.
We are delighted to announce another 15 new routes in our easyJet network at Lisbon airport for next summer, and to become the first airline to offer direct flights between Lisbon-Menorca and Lisbon-Bastia,” José Lopes, director for Portugal, said in the same statement.
