During the last quarter of 2022, Dubai International Airport (DXB) witnessed an increase in passenger numbers, which brought them back to pre-pandemic levels.
Paul Griffiths, the CEO of Dubai Airports, was not surprised to retain the title of the world’s busiest airport, as he attributed this success to the exceptional performance of Dubai International throughout the year and the increase in traffic during the final quarter.
Griffiths informed Gulf News that the airport’s capability to manage the sudden surge in demand was the result of detailed planning and preparation carried out by all the service partners that constitute Dubai’s airport community. He further stated that DXB’s readiness enabled the airport to provide tangible improvements in the overall airport experience for the 66 million passengers who traveled through it in 2022.
