Singapore Airlines Secures Top Spot as Best Airline in 2023, Marking Their Fifth Victory at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.

The prestigious announcement took place at a grand ceremony held at the Air and Space Museum, coinciding with the Paris Air Show, which is scheduled from June 19 to 25.

Goh Choon Phong, the CEO of Singapore Airlines, expressed his gratitude, stating, “This accolade truly reflects the unwavering determination of our team, who demonstrated immense dedication and made numerous sacrifices to ensure that SIA was well-prepared for the recovery of air travel. As a result, we have emerged from the pandemic stronger and more resilient, establishing ourselves as a leading global airline.”

In a triumph over Qatar Airways, a previous seven-time Airline of the Year winner, Singapore Airlines claimed the top spot, leaving Qatar Airways in second place after being ranked first in 2022.

World’s best business class airline

Qatar Airways excelled in the realm of business class offerings, securing victories in categories such as Best Business Class, World’s Best Business Class Seat, World’s Best Business Class Lounge (the Al Mourjan lounge at Hamad International Airport), World’s Best Business Class Lounge Dining, and Best Airline in the Middle East.

Other Airline Awards 2023

Air Canada emerged victorious in the recently introduced category of World’s Most Family-Friendly Airline, encompassing aspects like family seating policies, priority boarding, and amenities for children.

Among the rankings, European carriers outperformed their American counterparts, with Turkish Airlines securing the sixth position and Air France following closely in seventh place.

Kuwait Airways received recognition as the World’s Most Improved Airline, attributed to the recent introduction of a complimentary chauffeur service exclusively for first and business class passengers.

Continuing its streak since 2010, AirAsia was once again crowned as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline.

Scoot, the low-cost carrier from Singapore, triumphed as the World’s Best Long-Haul Low-Cost Airline, while Volotea, a Spanish airline, emerged victorious as the Best Low-Cost Airline in Europe, showcasing exceptional competitiveness in the field.

Garuda Indonesia was honored with the award for Best Cabin Crew, demonstrating their exceptional service.

Cathay Pacific secured the title of World’s Best Inflight Entertainment, while Bangkok Airways was recognized as the World’s Best Regional Airline.

The esteemed rankings were derived from independent, self-funded, online customer surveys conducted by a U.K.-based aviation consultancy. The surveys encompassed over 100 countries and included feedback from passengers across more than 325 airlines worldwide, spanning the period from September 2022 to May 2023.
