SAS experienced a significant increase in the number of passengers, reaching 1.6 million in February 2023

In February, SAS experienced a significant increase in the number of passengers, reaching 1.6 million, which represents a 64 percent increase from the same period last year. Moreover, SAS’ passenger demand continued to rise, with a 61 percent increase in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) and a 33 percent increase in capacity compared to last year.

Additionally, the flown load factor for February showed a marked improvement, reaching 71 percent, which is 13 percentage points higher than February last year.

“Passenger demand continued its positive trend for SAS and 1.6 million passengers traveled with us in February, up 64 percent compared to the same month last year.” told Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS.

“Our flown load factor continues to improve and reached 71 percent in February. During the month, we have inaugurated our route from Copenhagen to JFK in New York as part of strengthening our US offering. We continue to prepare for a busy summer season and the launch of our 20 new summer season routes,”

SAS, or Scandinavian Airlines System, is the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. It operates a fleet of over 100 aircraft, consisting of Airbus A320 family, A330, and A350 models, as well as Boeing 737 and 747 models. SAS serves more than 100 destinations worldwide, including popular routes such as Stockholm to London, Copenhagen to Paris, and Oslo to New York.

The airline is known for its high level of service and on-time performance, and it has been awarded several prestigious accolades, including Europe’s Most Punctual Airline in 2019 by FlightGlobal. Additionally, SAS has implemented various sustainability measures, such as reducing emissions and waste, to minimize its impact on the environment.
