Doha-Auckland non-stop flight by Qatar Airways is resumed

Qatar Airways inaugurated its service to Auckland in December 2016 using its Boeing 777-200LR fleet. At that time, it was considered the longest flight in the world. However, the route was suspended during the early months of the pandemic in 2020.

Restart of Doha-Adelaide-Auckland flights in 2022

Qatar Airways reintroduced flights to Auckland in March 2022, but with a change in service compared to its previous nonstop route. The airline is now offering a combined flight service from Doha to both Adelaide, Australia (ADL), and Auckland. Flight QR-914 departs from Doha at 8:30 p.m. local time and arrives in Adelaide at approximately 3:55 p.m. local time after a flight duration of about 12 hours.

Following a stopover of three hours in Adelaide, the flight QR-914 proceeded towards Auckland, taking off at 6:20 pm local time and reaching the destination at 12:50 am local time after approximately four hours of flight.

After arriving in Auckland, the Boeing 777-300ER would have a long layover of 15 hours before operating the return flight, QR-915, which traveled from Auckland to Doha via Adelaide. The departure time for QR-915 was 4:55 p.m. from Auckland, arriving in Adelaide at 7:40 p.m., then departing Adelaide at 9:40 p.m. and arriving in Doha around 4:40 a.m.

Passengers traveling from Doha to Auckland, and vice versa, would have to endure a total of nearly 19-20 hours of travel time each way, including the three-hour layover in Adelaide.

Doha-Auckland non-stop flight resumed

Starting from September 1st, 2023, Qatar Airways will reintroduce daily nonstop flights to New Zealand’s largest city, departing from Doha.

This time, the flight will be operated by the Airbus A350-1000 instead of the Boeing 777 that was previously used. The A350-1000 has a two-class configuration with a total of 327 seats, including 46 QSuite Business Class seats and 281 Economy Class seats.
